Safeguarding

At Altwood Church of England School we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of our students. Our processes, policies and systems operate with the best interests of children at their core.
As a school we are committed to ensuring that consistent and effective safeguarding procedures are in place, and are constantly reviewed, to support students, families and staff.

Our focus at school is always on taking the actions needed to enable all students to have the best possible outcomes. For this to be achieved not only does the quality of education matter but also disseminating and embedding a strong safeguarding culture throughout school.
Every single member of the Altwood Church of England School community plays an important part in this culture of vigilance.

We have a safeguarding policy and appropriate procedures in place which are clearly communicated to all those on our school site. All staff are trained annually in relation to child protection and other issues surrounding safeguarding. Our Students are encouraged to talk and are listened to, knowing there are adults in the school whom they can approach if they are worried or have concerns.

The safeguarding policy can be accessed from the side panel.
